If you’re a lover of nature and enjoy a peaceful walk, then the vast 28 hectares of heathland at the Hertford Heath Nature Reserve is the place for you. It is one of a very few patches of surviving heathland in Hertfordshire which supports a special mix of wildlife, ranging from rare birds to elder trees and is also a site of special scientific interest. Not to forget Balls Wood that also benefits from having around 60 hectares of woodland and countryside for everyone to enjoy.
In regards to schooling, Hertford Heath Junior Mixed Infant school caters for children from Nursery age through to year 6. Haileybury College is an outstanding secondary school in Hertford Heath which is a private boarding school offering rounded education for boys and girls aged 11-18. Haileybury boasts a rich heritage stemming back over 200 years. The school offers facilities to the village and public at large who can utilise its modern sports complex which includes an indoor heated swimming pool, badminton hall, squash courts, fitness suite, tennis courts and more.
Hertford Heath is a community orientated village with events taking places at The Village Hall, fireworks night is especially good with a very large Bonfire on the village green and great fireworks from some neighbours back gardens, attracting most of the village! Most certainly a great location for your forever home. There are renowned pubs such as The Goat, The College Arms and The Galley Hall that all offer great food and drink in a warm, and family friendly environment.
